Creative design solutions on applying concept of re-use, renovation, or preservation on existing modern industrial heritage, or modern architecture of Asian context.

Application Guideline 

1. Theme : Creative design solutions on applying concept of re-use, renovation, or preservation on existing modern industrial heritage, or modern architecture of Asian context.
2.Eligibility : Submitted works must be academic design projects or thesis works completed at College, University, or Graduate School level academic institutions, and must have been completed within past three years from the date of submission. You are free to revise these projects for the purposes of this competition
3.Important Dates First Stage Deadline :     July 22, 2011
Finalist announcement :  August 8, 2011
Second Stage Deadline : August 19, 2010
4. Requirements

First Stage

(a) Electronically submit 1xA1 size (840x600) digital image in jpg. format, containing key architectural drawings, perspectival images and any necessary diagrams that explain the design intent. Scale of architectural drawings may vary. Resolution of the image has to be at least 300dpi. Please limit size of each uploaded file to 20MB.
(b) A written description of the project in English (doc. Format) limited to 1XA4 size sheet

Second Stage The second stage of competition will take form of public presentation using digital media. Five finalists selected for the second stage will be notified individually and are asked to provide a power point presentation in English. The length of presentation for each team will be limited to 10 minutes with additional time for questions and comments. The winner will be announced and awarded at the end of the day on closing ceremony of the conference.
5.Official Language

All text must be written in English (for both drawings and presentation)
Presentation will also be conducted in English

6.Registration

No pre-registrations or registration fee are necessary for this competition.

Award

First prize :  1 work - USD 1,000 & Award Certificate

Special prize : 4 works – Award Certificate.

Copyrights for the project belong to the applicant but the sponsor, mAAN,  possesses the rights to publish work in magazines and websites.

3.

Submitted work will not be returned. If it is necessary please reproduce your work before sending it. Application data will not be used for anything except the purposes of this competition.
